1. Our commitment
ShiaSpouse is an adult matrimonial service for Shia Muslims seeking marriage. ShiaSpouse has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). We prohibit any content, conduct, or use of our services that sexually exploits, endangers, or otherwise harms children.
These standards apply to the ShiaSpouse mobile application, the ShiaSpouse website, and all related services operated by ShiaSpouse.
2. Age requirement
ShiaSpouse is strictly limited to users aged 18 years and older. We do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to create an account or use our services. A date of birth is required before a profile can be used, any date of birth below 18 is refused, and accounts identified as belonging to a minor are removed and permanently banned.
3. Prohibited conduct
The following are strictly forbidden on ShiaSpouse and will result in immediate account termination and reporting to the relevant authorities:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form — images, video, text, audio, links, or descriptions
- Any sexualisation of a minor, including AI-generated, drawn, animated, or computer-generated depictions
- Grooming, or any attempt to establish contact with a minor for sexual purposes
- Sextortion, or threatening to distribute intimate imagery of a minor
- Trafficking of minors, or advertising, soliciting, or facilitating child sexual exploitation
- Creating a profile that presents the account holder as a minor
- Uploading photographs of children in any sexualised context
- Sharing off-platform links or contact details for the purpose of any of the above
4. How we prevent and detect CSAE
- Age checks in our systems. A date of birth is required before a profile can be used, and any date of birth below 18 is rejected — both when an account is created and when a profile is completed.
- Identity verification. Members may complete optional verification using government-issued photo identification.
- Human moderation. Profiles, photographs, and reported content are reviewed by our moderation team.
- Reporting tools. Every profile and conversation includes in-app report and block functions.
- Account enforcement. Violating accounts are removed and permanently banned from the service.
5. How to report
Report from inside the app: open the profile or conversation, tap the menu icon, and select Report. Reports of child safety concerns are prioritised.
Report to our child safety team:
Child Safety Team, ShiaSpouse
Email: admin@ShiaSpouse.org
Postal: ShiaSpouse, 19 Ash Road, Woking, GU22 0BJ, United Kingdom
We aim to acknowledge all child safety reports within 24 hours.
6. How we respond
When we identify or receive a report of CSAE, we:
- Remove the offending content immediately
- Suspend and permanently ban the account
- Preserve relevant evidence as required by law
- Report the matter to the appropriate law enforcement and child protection authorities in the relevant jurisdiction
- Cooperate fully with law enforcement, including responding to lawful requests for information
7. Legal compliance
ShiaSpouse complies with all applicable child protection laws in the jurisdictions where we operate, including the UK Online Safety Act 2023 and the Protection of Children Act 1978. We comply with Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy and Apple's App Store Review Guidelines.
